Shared mobility: planning, tendering and parking solutions

On 16 September 2025, the Policy Learning Platform will host a webinar on promoting shared mobility through planning, tendering and parking policies.

Shared mobility systems such as bike-sharing, carpooling, and micromobility rental play a critical role in promoting sustainability by reducing the environmental impact of transportation. They help to lower emissions by decreasing the number of privately owned vehicles on the road, thereby reducing traffic congestion and fuel consumption.

Shared mobility also encourages multimodal transport, acting as a last-mile option linking public transit hubs. By optimising vehicle use, shared systems can also reduce the demand for parking infrastructure, further supporting greener urban development.

As well as being sustainable, shared mobility is inclusive, offering greater access to transportation for diverse populations, including those who cannot afford or are unable to operate a private vehicle. They may also be used to link up underserved or remote areas, enhancing access to employment, education, healthcare, and social services.

This webinar will showcase good practices on shared mobility, covering territorial strategies, tendering, and parking policies.
The session will also feature an interactive discussion.
