Proposal for EU budget 2028-2034 is out

On 16 July 2025, the European Commission published its proposal for the Multiannual Financial Framework. This proposal for the long-term budget of the EU for 2028-2034 amounts to almost EUR 2 trillion. Its aim is to provide Europe with long-term investments for an independent, prosperous, secure and thriving society and economy.

Interreg cooperation is featured in the proposal with a total budget of EUR 10 billion, which is slightly higher compared to the current programming period.

This proposal will be discussed and decided by the EU Member States with the consent of the European Parliament.
